Your images are compressed inside your own browser. Image data is never sent to a PixelCinch server, because no PixelCinch server processes images. We store your Google account identifier, your email address, your plan, and a count of how many images you processed this month. Nothing else.
PixelCinch requests a single Google Drive permission, drive.file. This scope grants access only to the specific files you choose through the Google file picker, plus files PixelCinch itself creates. It does not allow us to list, read, or search the rest of your Drive.
We also request openid and email so we can identify your account and count your monthly usage against the right plan.
When you run a batch, your browser downloads the selected files directly from Google Drive, processes them locally, and uploads the results directly back to Google Drive. The image bytes travel between Google and your browser. They do not pass through our infrastructure, and we never store, copy, inspect, or transmit them elsewhere.
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Google account ID | Identify your account across sessions | Until you delete your account |
| Email address | Support, billing, service notices | Until you delete your account |
| Plan and billing reference | Know whether you are on Free or Pro | Until you delete your account |
| Monthly image count | Enforce the free tier limit | Reset at the start of each month |
We do not store file names, file contents, thumbnails, folder structures, or a history of your jobs.
PixelCinch's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not transfer this data to third parties except as necessary to provide the service, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read it.
PixelCinch is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, we will update the date at the top and notify active users by email.
